The Theyath Dhanwanthari Temple is the seat of Dhanwanthari Moorthi a deity of great importance in the hindu mythology.

According to the Hindu Mythology this deity took form when the devas and the asuras churned the palazhy. This deity is the god of health and well being and worshipping this deity will bring forth good health, cure from diseases, prosperous married life and offspring’s.

This temple is over 1500 years old and its position itself is considered auspicious. It has been strategically placed in between the Ettumanoor Siva Temple and the Thaliyil Siva Temple. Even though the Theeyath family looks after the temple, all those who reside nearby have great devotion for this deity and visit the temple regularly.
The name of the temple evolved from an incident that occurred in the temple long back. A fire broke out in the temple from a lantern and the temple was known as “THEE KATHIYA KHSETRAM” for some time and further it evolved into its present name.
